Compassionate appointment is not a reservation. The idea behind compassionate appointment is to provide employment to the family member of the deceased who died in harness, to tide over the immediate crises. The father of the petition died in the year 1976 and petitioner is before this Court after more than 41 years of death seeking compassionate appointment. By no stretch of imagination compassionate appointment is available to the dependent after 41 years. The Court does not find any merit in this writ application.
