2. The petitioner seeks a direction upon the respondent authorities to accept the rent of Khesara No. 1552, Khata No. 443, Thana No. 14, Mauja Nirandarpur Khirauria (Pahari) and issue rent receipts in his name.

3. Learned Advocate for the petitioner contended that the land in question is agricultural land and it is an ancestral property of the petitioner. After partition 8.2/3 decimals of land from Khesara No. 1552 came in the share of the petitioner, over which his name was mutated. The petitioner has been paying rent to the Government of Bihar regularly till 2007-08 and also

Patna High Court CWJC No.5199 of 2018 dt.25-07-2024 2/2 obtained rent receipts. However, all of a sudden, the authorities refused to accept the rent. The petitioner approached before the Circle Officer, Patna Sadar, but no action has been taken and in the aforesaid premise, the petitioner approached before this Court.

4. Considering the nature of the grievance, this Court direct the petitioner to file a proper application with all necessary documents before the Circle Officer, Patna Sadar, who shall consider the grievance of the petitioner and pass a reasoned and speaking order.

5. In case, the claim of the petitioner finds favour, necessary rent receipt shall be issued after accepting the rent.

6. The aforesaid exercise must be completed within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order.

7. With the aforesaid observation, the present writ petition stands disposed of.
