The husband of the petitioner was a licensee under the old scheme. The licence thereafter could not be renewed for some reason or the other under the new scheme. The husband of the petitioner had approached this Court vide CWJC No.5947 of 2018, seeking a liberty to file a representation before the Sub-divisional Officer, Daudnagar, Aurangabad, which was granted to him with a direction to the concerned respondent to look into the

Patna High Court CWJC No.495 of 2022 dt.23-02-2022 2/2 grievance of the applicant and take a decision on such application within a period of eight weeks.

Though the representation as directed by this Court was filed, but before any order could be passed on such representation, the husband of the petitioner died. It appears that the petitioner is desirous of obtaining a PDS licence on compassionate ground. That may not be possible for the reason that the husband of the petitioner did not have a licence under the new scheme. It would be open for the petitioner to apply for fresh licence, should there be a vacancy in the district and in that case the application of the petitioner shall be considered.

With the aforesaid observation, the writ petition stands disposed of.
