2. The present petition has been preferred for the following reliefs:

(i) for settlement of Aam Gairmajarua land in favour of poor and landless person who belongs to scheduled caste category upon which he had been residing peacefully and continuously from the life his forefathers;

(ii) for the settlement of the land in the name of aforesaid petitioner in accordance with the notification issued by the Revenue Department of the Govt of Bihar vide letter No;-8/Grihsthal Avedan

Patna High Court CWJC No.1639 of 2024(2) dt.10-05-2024 2/2 Patra ;-04-04/2007/698(8) Rajaswa Dt 04/07/2008.

3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that he is landless person and has approached the District Magistrate, Lakhisarai to to provide provide them land.

4. Learned State Counsel objects and submits that the petitioner wants a particular piece of land which cannot be allowed.

5. This Court finds force in the submission of the learned State Counsel that if the petitioner is a landless person, he can approach the District Magistrate, Lakhisarai with a proper petition and it is for the said respondent to decide where and what to be allotted to him. He cannot be the person to decide that he need a particular piece of land.

6. If the petitioner approaches the Collector, Lakhisarai (respondent no. 2) with a proper petition showing him as landless person, the concerned respondent shall take up the matter and dispose it of within a period of six months thereafter.

7. The writ petition stands disposed of.
