Patna High Court CWJC No.878 of 2023 dt.07-02-2023 2/3 nature of public interest litigation, seeking direction to the State officials to take appropriate legal action against erring persons who, according to the petitioner, are involved in misappropriation of a huge sum of Rs.1,50,00,000/-, which was allotted for development work in Mokrampur Panchayat under MNREGA Scheme.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner has drawn our attention to an order dated 25.10.2022 passed by the Lokpal (MNREGA) Office, Madhubani under the District Rural Development Agency (hereinafter referred to as "DRDA"), wherein he has recommended certain actions to be taken in the background of alleged misappropriation of a sum of Rs.4,79,242/-.

After having heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Additional Advocate General, we deem it proper to dispose of the present writ application, in the facts and circumstances, with a direction to the Principal Secretary, Rural Development Department, Government of Bihar to look into the said order of the Lokpal (MNREGA), DRDA, Madhubani dated 25.10.2022, which is there on record by way of Annexure-4 to the writ application.
