JUSTICE MOHIT KUMAR SHAH ORAL ORDER 18-09-2023 The present writ petition has been filed seeking the following reliefs:- "1.(i) For issuance of a direction, order or writ, including a writ in the nature of Mandamus commanding the concerned Respondent Authorities to release the 3006 Bore Rifle S/H No. 372807 in favor of petitioner which has been seized in connection with Kawakol P.S. Case Number 17/09.

(ii) For issuance of a direction, order or writ, including a writ in the nature of Mandamus commanding the concerned Respondent

Patna High Court CWJC No.692 of 2023(2) dt.18-09-2023 2/2 Authorities to issue the necessary directions for renewal of the license of the petitioner."

At the outset, the learned counsel for the petitioner seeks liberty on behalf of the petitioner to approach the District Magistrate/District Arms Magistrate, Nawada for not only renewal of his arms license but also for release of the arms in question. Liberty, so sought, is granted.

It is needless to state that in case appropriate application is filed, in the prescribed format, by the petitioner for renewal of the arms license within a period of four weeks from today, the same shall be considered, in accordance with law, and a reasoned and a speaking order shall be passed thereon within a period of eight weeks thereafter by the District Magistrate/District Arms Magistrate, Nawada.

The writ petition stands disposed off on the aforesaid terms.
