Petitioner apprehends arrest in a case registered for offence under section 30a of the Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act, 2016.

It is alleged that a large quantity of foreign liquor was recovered when the same was being unloaded in a Maize field for its supply. Petitioner and others managed to escape to see the police party.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the allegation is false and the petitioner is no way concerned with the alleged recovery.

Learned counsel for the State submits that a large quantity of foreign liquor has been recovered from the possession of the petitioner and as per paragraph 3 of the bail

Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.541 of 2020(2) dt.19-02-2020 2/2 petition three criminal cases of similar nature are pending against him.

In view of the nature of allegation and the criminal antecedent of the petitioner, his prayer for bail is refused with direction to surrender and seek regular bail within a period of six weeks, which would be considered on its own merit without prejudice.
