The petitioner seeks bail in connection with CBI, SCB, Patna, Regular Case No. RC 0922014S0006 dated 30.12.2014 instituted for the offences under Sections 120B, 420, 467, 468 and 471 of the Indian Penal Code. It is alleged that the petitioner got his appointment in the Income Tax Department on the basis of fake Scheduled Caste certificate. Investigations revealed that the petitioner belonged to Backward Caste and not Scheduled Caste.

The prayer for anticipatory bail of the petitioner was earlier rejected by the Supreme Court but with the direction that in case he surrenders before the court below and prays for bail, his application shall be decided

Regard being had to the fact that the petitioner has lost his job and has remained in jail since 17.04.2018, he is directed to be released on bail on his furnishing bonds in the sum of Rs. 10,000/- (Ten Thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of the learned Special Judicial Magistrate-I, CBI, Patna in connection with CBI, SCB, Patna, Regular Case No. RC 0922014S0006 dated 30.12.2014.

It is however directed that the petitioner shall participate in the trial and shall not make any attempts at lingering the same. Should that be reported by the CBI it would be open for the court concerned to proceed for cancellation of his bail.
