This writ petition has been filed for the following relief(s):- "(i) To issue of a writ of mandamus or any other writ or writs, direction or directions commanding upon the respondent authorities to restore the energy connection of the petitioner being consumer No. 22530028050 Account No. KUD 2253010228, MIU KUDRA LTISID Panch- Mahuat Village Ekauni Tola

Patna High Court CWJC No.735 of 2025(3) dt.07-07-2025 2/3 EKAUNI Block Bhabhua, District- Kaimur for running 10 H.P. Motor which has been disconnected on 23.10.2024 alleging that the petitioner was using 10 H.P. Motor be-Passcausing loss of Rs.3,36,644/- to the Electricity Department."

3. Learned counsel for the petitioner states that the authorities may be directed to restore the power supply to the petitioner without there being any delay. Learned counsel has stated that the authorities have disconnected the power supply on the ground that the petitioner has been indulging in theft and levied an approximately sum of Rs. 3,36,644/-.

Learned counsel for the respondents (South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited) has stated that the petitioner may be directed to approach the appellate authority under Section 127 of the Electricity Act and in case the petitioner is willing to deposit the 50% of the disputed amount, the authorities will restore the power supply subject to final orders likely to be passed by the appellate authority.

5. Having regard to the same, the present writ petition is disposed of directing the petitioner to deposit the 50% of Rs. 3,36,644/- within a period of six weeks from today. On such deposit, the authorities are directed to restore the power

Patna High Court CWJC No.735 of 2025(3) dt.07-07-2025 3/3 supply to the petitioner. It is made clear that any amount paid by the petitioner shall be subject to the final outcome of the appeal likely to be filed by the petitioner.

6. With the above directions, the present writ petition stands disposed of.
