JUSTICE MOHIT KUMAR SHAH ORAL JUDGMENT Date : 15-02-2024 The present writ petition has been filed seeking the following reliefs:- "1. i. For issuance of direction to the respondent authorities to grant promotion to the petitioner on the post of Deputy Secretary and equivalent level w.e.f. 12.07.2018 as the promotion of the petitioner was withheld for one year from the due date vide Notification No. 4820 dated 30.03.2015 and juniors to the petitioner were granted promotion
Patna High Court CWJC No.608 of 2024 dt.15-02-2024 2/3 from 12.07.2017 and even if the effect of the said punishment is taken into consideration petitioner deserves promotion from 12.07.2018.
ii. The petitioner further prays for upgrade him on the post of Joint Secretary as the similarly situated persons and even juniors to the petitioner have been upgraded on the post of Joint Secretary vide Notification No. 19520 dated 17.10.2023."

At the outset, the learned counsel for the petitioner seeks liberty on behalf of the petitioner to approach the Additional Chief Secretary, General Administration Department, Government of Bihar, Patna for redressal of his aforesaid grievances regarding non-grant of promotion with effect from 12.07.2018 on the post of Deputy Secretary and with effect from 17.10.2023 on the post of Joint Secretary, respectively. Liberty, so sought, is granted.

It is needless to state that in case the petitioner approaches the Additional Chief
Patna High Court CWJC No.608 of 2024 dt.15-02-2024 3/3 Secretary, General Administration Department, Government of Bihar, Patna, by filing appropriate representation, within a period of two weeks from today, the same shall be disposed off by a reasoned and a speaking order, in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks, thereafter. 4.
The writ petition stands disposed off on the aforesaid terms.
