The petitioner seeks bail in anticipation of his arrest in connection with Bettiah (Muffasil) P.S. Case No. 536 of 2020 instituted for the offences under Sections 341, 342, 323, 496, 354(B), 580, 504, 506/34 of the Indian Penal Code.

The accusation against the petitioner and another is of having forcibly made the informant to marry an ironsmith. The learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that the F.I.R. has been lodged after 68 days. The

Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.13024 of 2021(2) dt.24-12-2021 2/2 occurrence is said to have taken place on 08.06.2020 but the F.I.R. was lodged on 16.08.2020. He further submits that the petitioner is an elected Ward Member of the local Gram Panchayat and, therefore, an attempt has been made to tarnish his image.

None of these grounds weigh with this Court for granting anticipatory bail to the petitioner who along with another had misbehaved with the informant and had made her marry another person even when she was already married person with three children. The accusation in the First Information Report is loud and clear and the fact that the petitioner is a Ward Member also goes against him. Instead of being the saviour of the people, the petitioner has misbehaved with the lady of the locality whose husband stays outside.
