24.08.2020 Heard Mr. Md. Musowir, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr. Anil Kumar Singh No. 1, learned APP for the State.

The petitioner, who is the husband of the deceased, seeks bail in connection with Katihar Muffasil P. S. Case No. 15 of 2018, dated 04.02.2018, which has been instituted for the offences under Sections 304B/34 of the Indian Penal Code.

On 28.05.2020, a report was called for about the stage of the case.

The report has not yet been uploaded with the brief.

In any view of the matter, taking into account the fact that the petitioner has remained in custody since 24.06.2019, this Court though is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner for the present, but directs that the trial be expedited and concluded within a period of nine months from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order.

In case the trial is not concluded within the aforesaid period without the petitioner being responsible for the same, he would have the liberty to approach the trial court for grant of bail.

Such petition, if filed before the trial court, shall be disposed off by giving reasons why the trial could not be concluded.

With the aforesaid direction / observation, this

petition stands disposed off.
