The petitioner seeks bail in a criminal prosecution registered under Sections 20 (b) and 22 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.
Taking into consideration the fact that there is allegation of recovery of 26 Kgs. of Nepali ganja from the house of the petitioner and he being the sole named accused in the first information report vide Annexure-1, this Court is not inclined to accede to the prayer made on behalf of the petitioner for grant of bail at this stage. Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner in connection with Ladaniya P.S.Case No. 119 of 2014 pending in the court of learned Sessions Judge, Madhubani is rejected for the present However, learned court below is hereby directed to expedite the trial of the petitioner and all endeavour shall be made to conclude the same at an early date preferably within a period of six months from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order.
