2. The petitioner seeks correction in her father's name as entered in the certificate issued by the Central Board of Secondary Education (hereinafter referred to as the 'Board') in the year, 2007 of having passed All India Secondary School Examination.
3. This writ application has been filed in the year, 2017. There is no plausible explanation for such delay. There is time limit prescribed by the Board for entertaining request for correction, which is also five years. There is no application brought on record, which according to the petitioner was made to the Board for correction of the father's name of the petitioner.

4. In such circumstance, no positive direction can be issued to the Board for correcting the father's name of the petitioner.
5. The petitioner is, however, given a liberty to approach the Board by filing an application and if the Regional Office of the Board at Patna, finds it permissible to entertain such application, the Regional Office shall examine the claim of the petitioner based on records and take appropriate decision within three months from the date of the filing of the application.
6. This application stands disposed of.
