1. Heard the parties.
2. The petitioner by way of this writ petition prays for correction of date of birth as 21.06.1975 in place of 21.06.1973 in the record of her Matriculation Examination Certificate, which was issued to her in the year 1991. She states that she has passed the examination in 1991, whereafter, she has further studied 12th class Inter Examination in the year 1993 as a regular student and then passed Graduate Examination from Maulana Azad National Urdu University, Hyderabad in 2013. She has also passed Teachers Training Course from Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi in the year 2008 and is presently working as a teacher in Upgraded Middle

3. The contention is that the date of birth printed in her certificate is wrongful and it should be 21.06.1975, instead of 21.06.1973.
4. This Court finds that this writ petition for change of date of birth, has been filed after a period of more than 33 years. For last 33 years she has been pursuing further studies and has been appointed, based on the date of birth as recorded in her certificate of the year 1991. After having served for several years in the Government, she cannot turn around and claim for change of date of birth in her Matriculation Certificate. The claim is stale and old and the writ petition suffers from gross laches and delay.
