1. The present writ petition has been filed seeking the following relief(s):- "1. That this writ application is being filed for a direction to the respondents particularly Respondent No-4 District Magistrate, Saran (Chapra) to grant an Arms License of a Pistol/ Revolver to the petitioner at an early date.

This writ application is also being filed for holding that the impugned non- consideration of the case of the petitioner in the matter of granting an Arms License of Pistol/Revolver to the petitioner, is illegal, arbitrary, and without any lawful Justification.

This writ application is also being filed for

Patna High Court CWJC No.1167 of 2024(2) dt.29-04-2024 2/2 a direction to the respondent No-4 District Magistrate, Saran (Chapra) to dispose of the Application filed by the petitioner for grant of Arms License in light of the order of Divisional Commissioner, Saran Division, Chapra."

At the outset, the learned counsel for the petitioner seeks a direction upon the Collector, Saran at Chapra, to dispose off the pending Arms License Case No.33 of 2015, which has stood re-opened with the passing of the order dated 23.09.2022, by the Commissioner, Saran Division, Chapra, in Arms Appeal Case No.230 of 2018.

3. Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case, I deem it fit and proper to direct the Collector, Saran at Chapra, to dispose off the aforesaid pending Arms License Case No.33 of 2015, in case the same has not yet been disposed off, by passing a reasoned and a speaking order, in accordance with law, within a period of 8 weeks of receipt/production of a copy of this order

4. The writ petition stands disposed off on the aforesaid terms.
