Pursuant to order dated 26.08.2019, the District Programme Officer (Establishment), Madhubani, as also the District Provident Fund Officer, Madhubani, are present in Court and have filed show cause.

From the same, it transpires that payment of GPF has been credited in the account of the petitioner.

The District Provident Fund Officer, Madhubani, has submitted that his office has issued the authority within one month of the petitioner submitting his form in July, 2013, and in August, 2013 itself, it was sent to the District Programme Officer (Establishment), Madhubani.

The District Programme Officer (Establishment), Madhubani, submitted that payment of Rs.21396/- was made into account of the petitioner on 07.07.2014 and Rs.13643/- on 26.03.2015.

The District Provident Fund Officer, Madhubani, has submitted that since there was late submission of bill, only six months' interest has been awarded.

Having regard to the aforesaid, the Court finds that for delay in submitting the bill, the petitioner has already suffered as interest for almost six years has not been paid to her. After her submitting the bill, the payment having been made in two installments i.e. after almost one year and thereafter almost one year and eight months, she is required to be suitably compensated for the delay on the part of authorities in terms of the order dated 26.03.2012 passed in CWJC No.5443 of 2012.

Accordingly, the application stands disposed off with cost of Rs.2,000/- (two thousand) in favour of the petitioner. The same shall be paid within two weeks from today. 9.
