Patna High Court CWJC No.2318 of 2023(2) dt.24-02-2023 2/2 committee/Special Investigation Team (SIT)/Vigilance, into large scale bungling, fraud and financial irregularities relating to the funds of MGNREGA under Scheme Nos.14 and 15 of 201819 of Nadai Village. The petitioner has made a bald statement in paragraph 3 of the writ application that he is a citizen of India and that he has no direct or indirect personal interest in the matter. The petitioner, in our view, has not been able to make out a case that he is a public spirited person and in that capacity, he has filed the present writ application, in public interest. Learned counsel for the petitioner has argued that huge public fund has been siphoned off by several persons which was allocated for the Scheme under MGNREGA. The petitioner instead of approaching this Court could have approached appropriate forum by filing criminal case if, according to the petitioner, the public money has been siphoned off.

This writ application filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India has no merit and is, accordingly, dismissed.
