The petitioner seeks release of his vehicle, namely, pick-up van bearing registration no. BR31GB6965, Chasis No. MA1ZN2TNKM1A14319, Engine No.
TNM1A37495, which was seized in connection with Mahnar P.S. Case No. 380 of 2021, registered for the offences under Sections 420 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 7 of the Essential Commodities Act.
The learned counsel for the petitioner has fairly stated before this Court that the confiscation proceeding with
Patna High Court CWJC No.1116 of 2022(2) dt.24-02-2022 2/2 respect to the aforesaid vehicle is already afoot. We, therefore, direct the Confiscating Authority to conclude the confiscation proceeding as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of sixty days from the date of receipt / production of a copy of this order. Should the petitioner feel aggrieved by the order of the Confiscating Authority, he may take resort to the remedies, which are available to him under the law.
