Heard Sri Niraj Lochan Jha, learned Counsel for the petitioners through video conferencing/ virtual mode and learned APP for the State, who is physically present. 2.

This application, for grant of anticipatory bail, arises out of Warisnagar PS case no. 62 of 2024 dated 01.03.2024, disclosing offences punishable under Section 498(A) and other allied sections of of the Indian Penal Code and Section 3/4 of D.P. Act.

The prosecution story, as per the First Information

Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.6891 of 2025(2) dt.21-03-2025 2/3 Report, is that the marriage of the informant was solemnized with co-accused Khalikur Rahman on 24.06.2023. After sometime, accused persons started demanding Rs. 10 lacs and motorcycle as dowry and due to non-fulfilment of the demand, the informant was tortured physically and mentally. It has further been alleged that on 18.02.2024, the accused persons tied a rope around the neck of the informant, husband of the informant poured kerosene oil on the body of the informant and petitioner no. 1 tried to set her ablaze by lighting a matchstick. 4.

Learned Counsel for the petitioners submits that petitioners have falsely been implicated in this case due to dispute between husband and wife. Learned counsel further submits that petitioners are sisters-in-law and their husbands having no concern with the family affairs of the informant's husband and other family members. All family members have been made accused by the informant on false allegation. He next submits no injury much less burn injury has been sustained by the informant. He also submits that the husband of the informant was in jail custody and has been granted bail by this Court. 5.

Having heard learned counsel for the parties and taking into consideration the fact that petitioners are brothers-inlaw and sisters-in-law of the informant and are residing

Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.6891 of 2025(2) dt.21-03-2025 3/3 separately in another village, I am inclined to grant the privilege of anticipatory bail to the petitioners.

This application is, accordingly, allowed.

Let petitioners, abovenamed, in the event of their arrest or surrender before the Court below within six weeks, be released on bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs. 10,000/- (ten thousand) each with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of learned Chief Judicial Magistrate, Samastipur in connection with Warisnagar PS case no. 62 of 2024, subject to the condition laid down under Section 438(2) of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
