The petitioner apprehends his arrest in a case registered for the offences punishable under Sections 272, 273 and 47(A) of the Excise Act.

The police chased and apprehended the accused Jitendra Kumar. It is alleged that two persons were carrying country made liquor but one of them fled away. The apprehended accused is said to have disclosed that he purchased the liquor from the shop of the petitioner, but the shop of the petitioner was not raided.

It has been submitted that the petitioner has got no shop and he has got no criminal antecedent. Nothing has been recovered from the possession of the petitioner.
