JUSTICE MOHIT KUMAR SHAH ORAL ORDER 18-03-2023 The present writ petition has been filed seeking the following reliefs:- "(i) For issuance of writ in the nature of mandamus to ensure the payment of Rs. 4.5 Lacs, which has been announced by the government under the Scheme, whereas the person who has been died after suffering from Covid-19 (CORONA) disease. (ii) For direction to the respondent authorities to take a decision on the representation filed by the petitioner."
At the outset, the learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that though the petitioner had filed appropriate
Patna High Court CWJC No.1648 of 2023(2) dt.18-03-2023 2/2 representation for grant of compensation on account of death of the wife of the petitioner on account of Covid-19 infection, before the District Magistrate, Jehanabad, however, no decision has been taken till date, hence, appropriate direction be issued for consideration of the representation of the petitioner dated 19.11.2022.
Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case, I deem it fit and proper to dispose off the present writ petition granting liberty to the petitioner to file appropriate representation for grant of compensation before the District Magistrate, Jehanabad and in case such a representation is filed, within a period of four weeks from today, appropriate order shall be passed thereon, in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks, thereafter.
