The following reliefs have been sought for on behalf of the petitioner in the present writ application. "1(I) For issuance of an appropriate writ in the nature of Mandamus, commanding and directing the respondent no. 2 for disposal of Arms License Case No. 127 of 2015 which is pending for consideration before the respondent no. 2 at least since 02.02.2016 in respect of which, the petitioner had filed his application much
Patna High Court CWJC No.23372 of 2018(2) dt.07-03-2019 2/3 earlier and he has been recommended for grant of license by the respondent nos. 4 to 9.'
(II) For a declaration that if application of the petitioner for grant of Arms License on account of danger to his life and property was recommended by the respondent nos.
4 to 9, there was no occasion for the respondent no. 2 to keep the matter pending before him since long."
It is submitted by learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner had filed an application for grant of arms license, in respect of which, Arms License Case No. 127/2015 was registered. The petitioner was issued a notice vide Memo No. 198 dated 04.02.2016 by the Senior Deputy Collector, District Legal Section, Saran at Chapra, for appearance of the petitioner before the respondent no. 2 i.e., Collector-cumDistrict Magistrate, Saran at Chapra, vide Annexure-P/1 to the present writ application. In pursuance to Annexure-P/1, petitioner had appeared before the concerned authority but in spite of that, no final order has been passed till date. Considering the aforesaid facts, the respondent no. 2 i.e. The District Magistrate, Saran at Chapra is directed to dispose of Arms License Case No. 127/2015 at the earliest preferably within a period of four months from the date of receipt/production of copy of this order.
With the aforesaid observations and directions, the
