2. The petitioner seeks regular bail in connection with Nadi P.S. Case No. 187 of 2022 registered on 11.05.2022 lodged under Sections 304B/34 of the I.P.C.

3. As per the prosecution case, F.I.R. has been lodged against six named accused persons including the petitioner with an allegation that he along with his family members have tortured his wife and ultimately killed.

4. Counsel further submits that petitioner is innocent and has committed no offence. He further submits that petitioner is in custody since 19.06.2023 having no criminal case pending against him, in which he is on bail. He further submits that when

5. Learned counsel for the State opposes the prayer for bail and submits that it is the responsibility of the husband to take care of his wife.

6. In the present facts and circumstances of this case, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, his bail application of the petitioner is hereby rejected.

7. However, petitioner is at liberty that he may renew his prayer for bail nine months. In the meantime, Trial Court is directed to expedite the trial.
