After the petitioner was taken in custody, vide order dated 23.01.2011 he was directed to produce the firearm. However after acquittal from the concerned case, the petitioner had approached the licensing authority for taking decision for release of firearm in his favour after renewal of firearm license but despite recommendation of the police, no final decision has been taken on behalf of the petitioner.
Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case,
Patna High Court CWJC No.7279 of 2016 dt.02-05-2016 this writ application is disposed of directing the respondent no.4 the District Magistrate, Jehanabad for taking final decision in the matter on its own merit and in accordance with law preferably within a period of four months from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order, if the same has already not been done.
