The sole prayer of the petitioner in the present writ petition is that since he was paid his salary for the period 17.05.1996 to 30.11.1998 after a delay of about 23 years, therefore he deserves to be paid interest on the aforesaid amount.

Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that under the circumstances of the petitioner having been made to approach this Court several times for getting his admitted dues of salary, nothing less than 18 per cent

Without commenting on the aforesaid submissions made on behalf of the petitioner, this Court only directs that in case the petitioner makes a representation for payment of reasonable interest before the Superintendent of Police, West Champaran, within a period of four weeks from today, such representation shall be disposed off in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks thereafter, keeping in mind that without any fault of the petitioner, his admitted dues were paid after 23 years.

With the aforesaid observation / direction, this writ petition stands disposed off.
