JUSTICE ASHUTOSH KUMAR ORAL JUDGMENT Date : 19-02-2019 The petitioners have come to this Court for a direction to the respondent authorities for being appointed as

Patna High Court CWJC No.2410 of 2019 dt.19-02-2019 2/3 Kisan Salahkars. Pursuant to an advertisement issued in the year 2010, the petitioners had applied against the aforesaid advertisement for their engagement as Kisan Salahkars. Finding that the petitioners had requisite qualifications for becoming Kisan Salahkars, their names fell in the merit-list. It is the case of the petitioners that once a merit-list was prepared, it was accepted that all the persons whose names fell in the merit-list would be engaged as Kisan Salahkar as most of the posts, in different districts of Bihar, of Kisan Salahkar are still vacant.

2. Despite several representations having been made by the petitioners, details of which have been provided in the writ petition, the petitioners have not even been communicated as to why they have not been appointed.

3. Under the aforesaid circumstances, the petitioners are directed to make a fresh representation before the District Magistrate-Cum-Chairman, District Selection Committee, Munger (respondent No. 5) within a period of four weeks from today. On receipt of such representation, the District Magistrate-Cum-Chairman,

Patna High Court CWJC No.2410 of 2019 dt.19-02-2019 3/3 District Selection Committee, Munger (respondent No. 5) shall dispose off such representation in accordance with law by a reasoned order within a period of six weeks thereafter.

4. With the aforesaid observation and direction, the writ petition stands disposed off.

5. At this stage, the learned counsel appearing for the State has informed this Court that the post of Kisan Salahkars have been abolished and now Agriculture Coordinators are being appointed. If this be so, the petitioners would be communicated the aforesaid fact by the District Magistrate-Cum-Chairman, District Selection Committee, Munger (respondent No. 5).
