The petitioners are languishing in custody since 8.4.2015 in a case registered for the offences punishable under Sections 272,273 and 290 of the Indian Penal Code and section 47(a) of the Excise Act.

From a pick-up van 200 liters of country made liquor were recovered in which the petitioners were found travelling. It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioners that the petitioners were simply passengers when the driver carrying the illicit liquor, escaped from the scene.
