The petitioner seeks bail in anticipation of his arrest in connection with Sugauli P.S. Case No. 298 of 2016 instituted for the offences under Sections 406, 420, 467, 468 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code.

One person by the name of Sanjeet Kumar Rai was apprehended by the Security Guard of the State Bank, Phulwaria Branch on the charge of his trying to sell fake currency notes along with others. Aforesaid Sanjeet Kumar Rai is said to have named the petitioner also as one of his accomplices.

The learned counsel for the petitioner has

No.16154 of 2021(2) dt.07-03-2022 2/2 submitted that except for the afore-noted statement of aforesaid Sanjeet Kumar Rai, there is no other material to connect the petitioner with the offence. Nothing has been recovered from the possession of the petitioner and the accusation in the F.I.R. also appears to be quite vague and untrustworthy.

The petitioner does not have criminal antecedents. For the reasons afore-stated, the petitioner, above named, is directed to be released on bail, in the event of his arrest or surrender before the court below within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt / production of a copy of this order, on furnishing bail bonds of Rs. 10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of learned Chief Judicial Magistrate, East Champaran, Motihari, in connection with Sugauli P.S.
