The petitioners along with two other auditing firms / agencies were selected for auditing the account for the financial years 2015-2016, 2016-2017 and 20172018.

Patna High Court CWJC No.2126 of 2020 dt.31-01-2020 2/3 A decision was taken at the governmental level for adopting a particular procedure for giving extension of time to such enlisted auditing firms. After due deliberation, extension has been granted to one firm only whereas no specific decision appears to have been taken with respect to the petitioners, who are the two other enlisted firms. The representation of the petitioners before the respondent authorities have till now gone unheeded. Petitioners do not know whether they have been given any extension of time to continue with the work or their engagement has been terminated.

It appears to be only logical that the representation of the petitioners be disposed off and petitioners be made known whether they have to continue with their work with the extension of time or they should pack-up their establishment.

Under the aforesaid circumstances, this Court directs that in case a fresh representation is made by the petitioners before the concerned respondent, the same

Patna High Court CWJC No.2126 of 2020 dt.31-01-2020 3/3 shall be looked into and a reasoned order shall be passed, which shall be intimated to the petitioners forthwith. Such an order be passed within a period of two weeks of the representation of the petitioners which shall be filed within a period of one week from today.

With the aforesaid observation / direction, this petition stands disposed off.
