The petitioner seeks bail in anticipation of her arrest in connection with Norangiya P.S. Case No. 21 of 2020 instituted for the offences under Sections 406, 409, 420 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code.

At the relevant time, the petitioner was a Ward Member-cum-Chairperson of the committee which was entrusted with the task of executing the work of road construction and potable water. The allegation against the

The learned counsel for the petitioner has drawn the attention of this Court to the fact that approximately twelve lakhs was deposited in the working account of the petitioner against which the entire work has been completed and there is No Objection Certificate of the concerned authority. Whatever amount was left to be spent has already been deposited in the account of the Panchayat. The learned counsel for the petitioner, therefore, has submitted that the accusation of financial irregularity is not borne out from the records of the case.

For the afore-stated reasons and taking into account the gender of the petitioner, she is directed to be released on bail, in the event of her arrest or surrender before the court below within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt / production of a copy of this order, on furnishing bail bonds of Rs. 10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of learned Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate
