JUSTICE SUDHIR SINGH ORAL ORDER 22-06-2022 Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned APP for the State as well as counsel for Union of India. The petitioner seeks bail in N.D.P.S. Case No. 18 of 2019 arising out of N.C.B. Case No. 12 of 2019 for the offence registered under Sections 8, 20, 25 & 29 of the N.D.P.S. Act. Earlier prayer for bail of the petitioner was rejected vide Annexure-A series to the present application taking into account that 550 kg. of Ganja was alleged to have been recovered from a truck.

A report was called for from the trial court which has been received. It has been reported that out of 7 charge sheeted prosecution witnesses, the prosecution has already examined

On behalf of the State, it is submitted that the petitioner is named in the Complaint Case/F.I.R.

Considering the nature of allegation and the stage of the case, I am not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected. Learned trial court is directed to take all necessary steps to conclude the trial of the petitioner preferably within a period of six months from the date of receipt/production of copy of this order.

The Zonal Director, Narcotics Control Bureau, Patna is directed to ensure that the prosecution witnesses are produced on the date fixed by the trial court so that the trial could be concluded within the stipulated period of six months.
