The application alleges wilful/deliberate disobedience/disregard of the order dated 20.02.2015 (Annexure-1). Having considered the submissions of the parties, the Court directed the Circle Officer to dispose of the pending proceeding.

Mr. Lal fairly states that the Circle Officer has now dropped the said proceeding. He has, however, submitted that

Patna High Court MJC No.1900 of 2016(3) dt.15-11-2017 2/2 acceptance of land rent has not resumed. This should be considered as a breach of the order passed on the writ petition. Counsel for the State conversely submits that the Court had only directed for disposal of the pending proceeding considering the submissions made by the petitioner in the writ petition. The pending proceeding has already been dropped. The order passed by this Court has been complied with. Mr Lal, appearing on behalf of the petitioner, however, states that if the respondent-State continues to refuse the acceptance of the land rent, he will approach the appropriate forum /authority in accordance with law.

The contempt application is dismissed.
