2. The present writ petition has been filed seeking the following reliefs:

"(i) Issue an appropriate writ(s), direction(s) or order(s) including the writ of Mandamus directing the Respondents and particularly the Eastern Regional Committee (ERC) of National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) to process and decide the application of the petitioner bearing application (code) No. ERCAPP2016-46156 with Application ID 10507 as made for grant of recognition of B.Ed. course under Regulation 7(16) of NCTE (Recognition Norms Regulations, 2014 and Procedure).

(ii) Issuances of an appropriate writ(s), direction(s) or order(s) including the writ of Mandamus directing the Respondents and particularly the Eastern Regional Committee (ERC) of National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) to follow the procedure as contemplated under section 15(3) (b) of the NCTE Act, 1993 clause 7 (17) of NCTE Regulation, 2014 while processing and deciding the application of the petitioner bearing application (code) No. ERCAPP2016- 46156 with Application ID 10507 for grant of final recognition of B.Ed. course under Regulation 7(16) of NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulation, 2014.

(iii) Issue a writ of Mandamus or a writ, order or direction in the nature of Mandamus any other order, writ appropriate or direction directing the Respondent no. 6 to produce the rejection order as has been issued in pursuance of decision taken in the 244th meeting of ERC-NCTE held on 9th October, 2017 vide which application of the petitioner bearing ERCAPP 201646156 application (code) no. with application ID 10507 seeking grant of recognition of applied B.Ed. Programme has been rejected and to quash the same by issuing the writ of Certiorari."

3. At the very outset, learned Senior Counsel for the petitioner seeks liberty on behalf of the petitioner to approach the respondent authorities for redressal of his aforesaid grievance. Liberty, so sought, is granted.

The petitioner is directed to file a detailed representation/application before the respondents no. 2 along with all supporting documents within a period of four weeks and the respondent no. 2 is well advised to consider the case of the petitioner after affording opportunity of personal hearing or through his counsel and pass a reasoned and speaking order in accordance with law within eight weeks thereafter.

5. It is made clear that the respondent no. 2 shall be liable for non-compliance of this order within the stipulated period.

6. With the aforesaid direction, the writ application stands disposed of.
