2. The petitioner seeks bail in connection with Basnahi P.S. Case No. 118 of 2024, instituted for the offences punishable under Sections 365, 498-A and 120-B of the Indian Penal Code.

3. The prosecution case, in short, is that, daughter of the informant was tortured for non-fulfillment of dowry and later on she went missing. It is further alleged that her in-laws denied to provide her whereabouts and threatened the informant for dire consequences.

4. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is innocent and has falsely been implicated in the present case. Charge-sheet has been submitted in this case.

After elopement of the victim with her lover, the informant hatched a conspiracy to falsely implicate the petitioner. It is further submitted that the police has neither been able to recover the alleged dead body nor during the entire investigation any evidence has been brought on record to show the complicity of this petitioner in the alleged crime. The petitioner is in custody since 07.07.2024 and has got no criminal antecedent.

5. Learned APP for the State has vehemently opposed the prayer for grant of bail to the petitioner.

6. Considering the aforesaid facts and circumstances of the case and taking into account the period of custody undergone by the petitioner, this Court is inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.

7. Let the petitioner be released on bail on furnishing bail bonds of Rs. 10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of Court below/concerned Court in connection with Basnahi P.S. Case No. 118 of 2024.
