The petitioner's grievance is that his firearm licence, which was valid till the year 2015, is not being renewed by the Licensing Authority despite several representations having been made.

It is contended that firearm licence was granted to the petitioner by the Licensing Authority at Kathua, State of Jammu and Kashmir while he was serving in the Indian Army. However, after his retirement, he has come back to his native place and has made request for renewal of firearm licence for which no objection certificate was granted by the District Magistrate, Kathua vide Annexure 2 which has been addressed to the District Magistrate, Buxar.

Patna High Court CWJC No.9324 of 2016 dt.27-06-2016 2 / 2 Accordingly, I direct the District Magistrate-cum-Licensing Authority, Buxar to take a final decision in the matter of the petitioner on its own merit and in accordance with law within a period of two months from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order and communicate it to the petitioner.

This disposes of the writ petition.
