The petitioner has prayed for issuance of appropriate writ/direction for payment of compensation to her as she suffered burn injuries due to the electric wire which fell on her and she was hospitalized for 38 days. According to her, Rs. 1,43,451/- spent on her treatment. According to her, she alleges that for this negligence, the North Bihar Public Distribution

Patna High Court CWJC No.4287 of 2020(2) dt.28-06-2022 2/2 Company Limited (hereinafter referred to as the 'Company') is liable.

Learned counsel appearing for the Company however submits that they have not received any representation from the petitioner.

Under the circumstances, the writ petition is disposed off with a direction that in case the petitioner files a representation before the Managing Director of the Company within three weeks from today, her grievance shall be looked into and a speaking order shall be passed within one month thereafter. If any amount is found due it shall be paid to the petitioner forthwith.

It is made clear that in case there is any inordinate delay in dealing with the matter, the respondent no. 1 shall be at liberty to impose punitive cost not less than Rs. 50,000/- on the officer responsible for delay and recover the same from his salary.

The writ petition stands disposed off.
