Petitioner has approached this Court for a direction to the respondents to take appropriate decision with regard to claim of the petitioner for compassionate appointment. Father of the petitioner died in harness on 4.5.2016. The petitioner applied for compassionate appointment but his application for compassionate appointment is pending at the level of the respondents.

The idea behind compassionate appointment is to

Patna High Court CWJC No.6907 of 2018(2) dt.02-07-2019 2/2 provide social security to tide over the financial crisis occasioned to the family on account of death of bread earner. The matter is pending before the respondent No.4. Considering the whole object of compassionate appointment, the respondents are hereby directed to take appropriate decision with regard to compassionate appointment to the petitioner within a maximum period of sixty days from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order. With the aforesaid, the writ application stands disposed of.
