Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the father of the petitioner died in harness on 12.4.2016. The petitioner applied for consideration of his case for compassionate appointment after completing all the formalities on 24.5.2016. The respondent-authorities of the University are sitting tight over the matter and they have not taken any decision on the claim of the petitioner for compassionate appointment although the application was submitted way back on 24.5.2016.

Patna High Court CWJC No.4365 of 2018(2) dt.30-03-2018 2/2 In view of the above, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to take final decision on the application of the petitioner for compassionate appointment, if not already taken, within a maximum period of 60 days from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order considering the objective behind compassionate appointment so that the family may be able to tide over the financial crisis occasioned suddenly on untimely death of the bread earner.
