The petitioners, by way of the present writ petition, seek a direction upon the respondents to shift the date of confirmation of services of the petitioners to their date of appointment/ joining.

The learned counsel for the petitioners submits that in an identical case, a coordinate Bench of this Hon'ble Court by an order dated 16.07.2012 passed in CWJC no. 14659 of 2009 (Dr. Devendra Prasad Singh & others v. Magadh
Patna High Court CWJC No.4664 of 2019 dt.11-03-2019 2/2 University and others) has held that as per the rules, the absorption should be either from the date of joining or from the date of sanctioning of the post, which ever is latter. 3.
Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case and considering the judgment rendered by a co-ordinate Bench of this Court in the case of Dr. Devendra Prasad Singh & others (supra), I deem it fit and appropriate to relegate the petitioners to the remedy of filing an appropriate representation before the respondents no. 2 and 6 i.e. the Vice-Chancellors of both the Universities namely Pataliputra University and Magadh University for the purposes of redressal of their grievances within a period of four weeks from today which shall be settled by the respective Vice-Chancellors by working amicably within a period of 12 weeks thereafter.

The present writ petition stands disposed of on the aforesaid terms.
