To issue an order/orders, direction/directions, writ/writs in the nature of commanding upon the Respondents concerned to grant license of Arms as provided under section 3 of the Arms Act since there is a probability of endanger to the life of the Petitioner and his families members on account of threatening, ransom being made by the local criminals as the Petitioner is being carried out in the business of gold smith.

b) To issue an order/orders, direction/directions, writ/writs in the nature of mandamus

Patna High Court CWJC No.2703 of 2023(2) dt.29-03-2023 2/2 commanding upon the Respondents concerned to dispose of the application for the grant of license of Arms under section 3 of the Act in a prescribed form filed by the Petitioner and the same was received in the office of District Magistrate, Begusarai on 05.01.2021, but still the concerned Respondent is found to be sitting tight over the matter for the reason best known to them and the same applied application is contained in Annexure-1 to this application." At the outset, the learned counsel for the RespondentState submits that the aforesaid application would definitely be processed and disposed off within a fixed time frame as prescribed by this Court.

Accordingly, the present writ petition stands disposed off with a direction to the District Magistrate, Begusarai, to dispose off the aforesaid application of the petitioner, if so filed and in case the same is still pending, by passing a reasoned and a speaking order, in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks of receipt / production of a copy of this order.
