In the present case, the relief has been sought for payment of compensation on account of death of the husband of the petitioner, who was engaged as Lineman/Maintenance staff. While removing the electric fault, he was trapped to the death of electrocution and on that account, this application has been filed for the amount of compensation.
Patna High Court CWJC No.260 of 2017 dt.14-02-2019 2/2 A supplementary affidavit has been filed bringing on record Office Order No. 724 dated 10.06.2016 issued by the South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited, wherein it has been mentioned that any person, who died of electrocution, his/her dependent or heirs will be entitled to an amount of Rs. 4,00,000/- and that Office Order will be applicable with effect from 01.04.2015.
The husband of the petitioner had died on account of of electrocution on 25.03.2016, in such circumstances, the Office Order No. 724 dated 10.06.2016 will be applicable and hence, this Court directs the South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited to make payment of Rs. 4,00,000/- to the petitioner within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order.
