The petitioner is in custody in connection with Chhapra Muffasil P.S. Case No. 279 of 2019 registered for the offences under Sections 272, 273/34 of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 30(a)/41(i)/38(2) of the Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act, 2016.

In the instant case there is recovery of 779.6 litres of liquor from the joint house of the petitioner. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner would submit that similarly circumstanced other co-accused have been granted bail. The petitioner is in custody since 04.01.2020.

Let the petitioner, above named, be released on bail on furnishing his personal bond to the satisfaction of the Additional District and Sessions Judge-IIcum-Special Judge, Excise Act, Saran at Chhapra in connection with Chhapra Muffasil P.S. Case No. 279 of 2019, on account of the circumstances prevailing due to lockdown in the wake of Covid-19 pandemic.
