Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner would be satisfied, if a direction is issued to the concerned respondent viz. the Chairmancum-District Magistrate, District Selection Committee, Vaishali at Hajipur to dispose of the application filed by the petitioner for grant of license to run a Fair Price Shop on compassionate ground.

3. It has been submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that his father died during the

Patna High Court CWJC No.6101 of 2019(2) dt.23-05-2019 2/3 tenure of the license to him to run the PDS shop. The death had occurred before the deceased attaining 58 years of age. The application for grant of license on such compassionate ground was made, but till date no decision has been taken in that regard. The prayer made on behalf of the petitioner therefore is that the aforesaid application be disposed off by the concerned respondent viz. the Chairman-cum-District Magistrate, District Selection Committee, Vaishali at Hajipur within a reasonable period of time, preferably within a period of three months of the passing of this order.

4. The prayer made on behalf of the petitioner appears to be reasonable.

5. The respondent no. 2 is directed to dispose off the application filed by the petitioner for grant of license on compassionate ground in accordance with law with a reasoned order, preferably within a period of three months of the receipt/production of a copy of this order.

6. With the aforesaid direction/observation, the writ petition is disposed off.
