Petitioner has filed this writ application for appointment on compassionate ground. The father of the petitioner died in harness on 20.03.2016. The State Government has formulated a policy of social security in the nature of providing compassionate appointment to the dependent of the employees who died in harness. The father of the petitioner died on 20.03.2016 and the petitioner has approached before the respondent authorities for consideration of his case for compassionate appointment. Unfortunately, the respondents have not finalized the claim of the petitioner for compassionate appointment as yet Considering the objective behind Compassionate appointment which is provided to the family of the deceased
Patna High Court CWJC No.8745 of 2018 (2) dt.08-05-2018 2/2 employee to tide over the financial hardship occasioned on the untimely death of bread earner, therefore, the respondents are directed to take final decision on the claim of petitioner who is dependent of employee died in harness at the earliest preferably within a period of 60 days from the date of production of a copy of this order. While taking decision, they are required to keep in mind that compassionate appointment is a social security measure and it has to be practiced considering the philosophy behind and not to adopt approach which may render the concept of social security in the nature of compassionate appointment as imaginary and illusionary.
