JUSTICE CHAKRADHARI SHARAN SINGH ORAL ORDER 12-04-2019 The petitioners are seeking a direction to the respondents to pay compensation against the acquisition of their land for the purpose of national highways.

The petitioners claim that after purchasing the land, mutation was done and they deposited the rent receipt in 2018. It has been stated that the petitioners do not have any knowledge about any acquisition proceeding and no amount of compensation has been paid. Only after the road was constructed, they realized that their land has been used. There is

It does not appear to me from the writ petition that the petitioners ever raised their grievance before the competent authority. On the basis of the pleadings in the writ application, no relief can be granted.

If the petitioners' land has been acquired under the Provisions of the National Highways Act, they shall be at liberty to take appropriate steps, in accordance with law, by making proper application, along with the relevant documents, before the competent authority to establish their claims. This writ application stands disposed of with the aforesaid observation.
