JUSTICE RAJEEV RANJAN PRASAD ORAL JUDGMENT (Per: HONOURABLE THE CHIEF JUSTICE) Date : 20-07-2018 This writ petition has been filed for release of the vehicle in question. Apart from the fact that the vehicle is registered in Punjab it was being brought into the State of Bihar and was caught smuggling into the prohibited area, more than 3385.08 ltrs. of liquor, we see no reason to make any indulgence into the matter and direct release of the vehicle in question as the quantity of liquor seized is very high and the vehicle which belongs to Punjab entering into the State of Bihar with such a
Patna High Court CWJC No.9797 of 2018 dt.20-07-2018 2/2 large quantity of liquor is nothing but an act of defying the Prohibition Law and smuggling liquor into the State where use of liquor is prohibited.
Taking note of all these factors, we are not inclined to interfere into the matter. Petitioner may make efforts to exonerate himself in the criminal case.
