2. The petitioner is apprehending arrest in connection with Mahila P.S. Case No. 60 of 2023 instituted under Sections 498A, 494/34 of the Indian Penal Code lodged on 26.06.2023 by the informant, Shimpi Kumari.

Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.12064 of 2025(4) dt.01-08-2025 2/3 In spite of best and sincere efforts, the dispute between the parties could not be resolved through the process of mediation.

The petitioner did not present any slip showing payment of amount as ordered by the Hon'ble Court by the order dated 13.05.2023 in Criminal Miscellaneous No. 12064 of 2025.

Hence, mediation failed.

4. As per the prosecution story, the informant alleged that the marriage took place in the year 2017 and dowry was given but she was always tortured for more dowry. Later, the husband married another lady namely Neha on 07.08.2022, whereafter, though pursuant to a compromise, he undertook to keep his wife with full dignity and honour, later, after assault, threw her from the house without giving her 'streedhan'. She is now living with her parents. This led to the FIR.

5. As recorded, the matter was sent to the Mediation Centre, failed, the petitioner had undertaken that not only he shall be making payment to the lady, shall also be giving her

Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.12064 of 2025(4) dt.01-08-2025 3/3 financial support. He failed to abide by both the undertakings.

6. Considering the submissions of the parties as also the allegation that has come against the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to extend him the privilege of anticipatory bail which is accordingly rejected.

7. The petitioner to immediately surrender and seek bail failing which the Police shall ensure his arrest. (Rajiv Roy, J) Ravi/- U T
