Forging a logo of Punjab National Bank, some unscrupulous persons opened a fake branch of the said bank by hiring a building, unfortunately, before operation, bank officials came to know whereupon with the help of police officials, a raid was conducted and the matter was exposed.
Petitioner happens to be the kingpin. He happens to be the person who had taken the building on rent from one Sanjay Kumar Singh, the house owner as recorded under para-12. He had entered into an agreement. The petitioner, after pursuing the landlord also took Rs. 75,000/- in order to arrange furniture with an assurance that after opening of the branch, the aforesaid amount will be returned back. Patna High Court Cr.Misc. No.49426 of 2014 (3) dt.06-04-2015 be active in such kind of nefarious activities and on account thereof, has got chequered history.
As such, for the present, I do not see it a fit case for grant of bail. The prayer for bail is rejected. The learned trial court is directed to expedite the trial and conclude the same within a year positively, failing which, the petitioner may renew his prayer for bail.
