The petitioner had appeared for National Eligibility Test (NET) held by University Grants Commission in June, 2014 with Geography as subject. It is his claim that he belongs to other backward category. He has filed this application for issuance of a direction to the University Grants Commission to issue 'Net Qualified' Certificate. A counter affidavit has been filed on behalf of the University Grants Commission stating therein that qualifying cut-off percentage marks for JRF and Lecturers for OBC candidates in the subject Geography in June, examination was fixed as 62.86 and 55.43 respectively. The

petitioner, on the other hand, scored 52% marks only. This fact is not in dispute.

In such circumstance, no relief as sought for in the present application can be granted.

This application is, accordingly, dismissed.
